And how we can make your business look as good ...
When you see female celebrities on the red carpet, they will be wearing something expensive and maybe even a little outrageous. They get dressed at the hotel, but how come they look so great for the camera once they arrive?
When you see a celebrity on the red carpet, there's normally a worried-looking dress assistant nearby!
I was watching an awards ceremony on TV the other night and discovered they have someone called a 'dress assistant' to help them. Just like a makeup artist or a hair stylist, the dress assistant is there to ensure that the expensive creation they are wearing looks its best.
"They're the one's ensuring the bottom of the dress isn't getting dirty or that the train is placed 'just so' for photographs!"
It can be a thankless task on the night, but they are very well paid, mostly by the dress designers, and they are supporting the image of the celebrity and promoting the designers brand as well, which is a win-win for everyone.
So why is The Office Genie writing about dress assistants on the red carpet? Because as virtual assistants, we do the same thing for you. Not with dresses, but with your business.
You've worked hard to build your brand and like every business owner, the phones must be answered the right way, emails must look and sound right, new enquiries must be dealt with efficiently, and marketing materials must be sent out in a particular way.
And that's what we're great at. Taking the pressure off you so you can concentrate on growing your business rather than dealing with the mundane stuff. Just like the dress assistant, our virtual assistant services are designed to make you look good.
"Not in front of the cameras, but in front of your customers!"

I had a successful 20-year career as an office manager and personal assistant; however, my job was no longer focused on the customers and became all about the numbers. My customer-focused background began when I was 12 in my father's independent carpet showroom. I had a spell with Marks & Spencer before I moved into office-based jobs. I have worked as a training administrator, a PA and PA/office manager in a variety of industries from manufacturing to the IT education sector.
Meanwhile, my husband Ian, a successful Northampton based Master Decorator and owner of Rainbow Frost, was losing out on work due to missed phone calls. When he was busy, callers were getting his voicemail but weren't leaving messages. I knew how to fix that problem!
I quit my job and took on Ian as the first client of The Office Genie in November 2005. Word quickly spread with the second client coming on board just one week later. The majority of our clients since have come to us through word of mouth recommendations and networking referrals. Over the years, I have become well connected in Northampton and Milton Keynes.
Outside of work I enjoy swimming, roller skating, the theatre and my cats and dogs!
