With Grease (1978) as our theme, there could be only one customer we could talk about. The Garage at Blakesley, owned by Colin and Sue Hilbourne! They are a garage based in South Northamptonshire.

Colin and Sue are set up so that we handle overflow calls for them, so if their line is already engaged, we'll pick it up and handle it as if we were actually in the garage. Being able to book clients in adds another layer to the Genie illusion, meaning we don't need to say "could I get the manager to call you back?" and there's no possibility of missing each other over the course of several calls!
Because of our diary management skills we happily book in a service or MOT for callers, giving a seamless, slick service that certainly keeps Colin, Sue and their customers happy.

Colin quite often advises us if he will be in the garage or doing all-important admin work and doesn't want to be disturbed. Some of our customers ask us to manage their time for them - so we book important call backs into time slots for them, keeping them organised and maximising their time - just another element of our diary management! It certainly saves you scrambling to remember who, what, where, when and why you were supposed to call.
As with all of our clients, the Genies have learnt quite a lot of specific knowledge to keep our call handling and diary management up to our usual high standards. For The Garage at Blakesley we have learnt about MOTs and car servicing; so that everything we send over to the garage is as informative and easy to understand as possible and we sound as if we have been working in a garage for years!
Questions like "have you changed your cam belt recently?" certainly wouldn't come up in usual conversation, but this is one of the many points we pride ourselves on!

Taking on a new diary management customer provides us with yet another learning experience, as each customer wants their diary managed in a slightly different way, with different rules and formats they like us to use. We have a number of different programmes and technologies depending on what our clients use, but our diary management clients are some of the best we have and the smoothest-running once we get our heads around how they like it!

THE OFFICE GENIE
I had a successful 20-year career as an office manager and personal assistant; however, my job was no longer focused on the customers and became all about the numbers. My customer-focused background began when I was 12 in my father's independent carpet showroom. I had a spell with Marks & Spencer before I moved into office-based jobs. I have worked as a training administrator, a PA and PA/office manager in a variety of industries from manufacturing to the IT education sector.
Meanwhile, my husband Ian, a successful Northampton based Master Decorator and owner of Rainbow Frost, was losing out on work due to missed phone calls. When he was busy, callers were getting his voicemail but weren't leaving messages. I knew how to fix that problem!
I quit my job and took on Ian as the first client of The Office Genie in November 2005. Word quickly spread with the second client coming on board just one week later. The majority of our clients since have come to us through word of mouth recommendations and networking referrals. Over the years, I have become well connected in Northampton and Milton Keynes.
Outside of work I enjoy swimming, roller skating, the theatre and my cats and dogs!
