Call Answering Like Nike
Enabling you to ''Just do it'' ...

What do you think of when you think of Nike? The swoosh? A training shoe? Call Answering? The slogan 'Just Do It'? To get anywhere in business you might need a combination of all of these ...
Thanks to Nigel Botterill and the Entrepreneurs Circle, I think of the slogan 'Just Do It' in a slightly different way these days. If you are going to achieve anything in business you have to stop overthinking things, perfecting things, or procrastinating and just do it!
There are times when business runs so fast that you feel like you need your trainers on in order to keep up.
"I don't know about you, but there have been times when I have felt my business was running away with me!"
As it has grown, there have been points when it has scared me as I feared losing control and part of me just wanted to hold it back so I could stay in charge of everything. Sometimes I have wished that I was back to the days when I did the call answering myself rather than employing the Genies to do it for me.
But when you are caught up in the running wheel of your business, you lose the chance to strategise, look at things with a cooler head, or develop the best business opportunity you have had in a long while. You can find that the day to day stuff can take over.
One of the biggest problems can be that you spend your time fire-fighting. If you are doing your own call answering then you can find yourself constantly on the front line - which is not where the big strategy decisions are made!
By using a call answering company like ours, it removes you one step from the front line and makes it easier for you to assign the fire-fighting to someone else. Even if you are providing the answers and the solutions, you can get someone else to deliver them if you are not the person that your customer is shouting at.
By giving yourself focused, uninterrupted time you can strategise your business one day and put the strategy plans into action on the next. Nigel claims his business has been built in 90 minute chunks. But this won't happen if you don't outsource your call answering. You need to make sure that you are uncontactable for those 90 minutes and you will be amazed at what you can achieve.
Using a call answering service will give you time and space to focus on individual parts of your business like the book-keeping, the marketing, the strategy, the promotions and the customer journey.
"By focussing on these, in small chunks, it will help you ditch the running shoes and take control of your business!"
It is amazing how your stress level can ease by simply giving yourself time to plan what you are going to do, rather than running from one thing to the next dictated by what is cropping up on the phone.
So, if you need help getting stuff done, call me on 01604 529170 to discuss how our call answering can help you to 'Just Do It'!
Until next time ...
THE OFFICE GENIE
I had a successful 20-year career as an office manager and personal assistant; however, my job was no longer focused on the customers and became all about the numbers. My customer-focused background began when I was 12 in my father's independent carpet showroom. I had a spell with Marks & Spencer before I moved into office-based jobs. I have worked as a training administrator, a PA and PA/office manager in a variety of industries from manufacturing to the IT education sector.
Meanwhile, my husband Ian, a successful Northampton based Master Decorator and owner of Rainbow Frost, was losing out on work due to missed phone calls. When he was busy, callers were getting his voicemail but weren't leaving messages. I knew how to fix that problem!
I quit my job and took on Ian as the first client of The Office Genie in November 2005. Word quickly spread with the second client coming on board just one week later. The majority of our clients since have come to us through word of mouth recommendations and networking referrals. Over the years, I have become well connected in Northampton and Milton Keynes.
Outside of work I enjoy swimming, roller skating, the theatre and my cats and dogs!
